This code establishes clear and ethical parameters for the International Society of Meeting Planners (ISMP). Failure to uphold these professional standards is grounds for temporary suspension or revocation of membership.
- ACI members must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
- Members shall strive to maintain and improve professional standards in the field of construction inspection and be willing to assist ACI to that end.
- Members shall foster and maintain transparency and particularly fairness and impartiality - in all matters, and between all parties, involved in a construction inspection.
- Members must recognize the responsibilities they have to the public, the profession, their employers and all parties having an interest in a construction inspection.
- Members shall make certain they have access to all pertinent facts which are reasonably available before making any suggestions or drawing any conclusions in the course of a construction inspection.
- Members shall never be involved in a construction inspection where any direct or indirect conflict of interest may be cause for concern about the final report's objectivity.
- Members must not falsely report or purposely misinterpret any information relating to a construction inspection.
- Members shall never allow a client to direct the outcome of a report or influence the information contained in a report.
- Members must be familiar with all state and federal laws that may apply to the construction inspection being conducted.
- Members shall ensure that their clients or employers fully understand all the information presented in the final report and that any suggestions or conclusions are carefully and fully explained.
- Members shall give independent, honest and objective opinions of any reports or information supplied to them in the course of a construction inspection, regardless of source.
- Members shall maintain their professional competence in the construction inspection field through ongoing education.
